Research

My research interests lie at the intersection of educational technology, mechatronics and intelligent automation.

I co-authored a publication introducing a new unit of measurement for introductory physics laboratories, developed in collaboration with Christopher Aubin, Ph.D., and Jackson Saunders, B.S. My contribution focused on the physical design and implementation of this new unit, known as the Aub stick—named in honor of Professor Aubin.

The purpose of the Aub stick was to create a novel learning experience in which students determine the acceleration due to gravity without relying on conventional metric units. Rather than verifying that gravity is approximately 9.81 m/s^2, students measured an unknown value expressed in aub/s^2, encouraging critical thinking and experimental reasoning. In a subsequent lab, students compared their independently derived results to identify outliers and compute a consensus value for the local acceleration due to gravity.

I am currently authoring a textbook on mathematical proofs that introduces the most essential proofs, properties, theorems, and postulates relevant to the "M" in STEM. The book begins with foundational mathematical logic and progressively builds toward rigorous proofs that strengthen conceptual understanding for high school and undergraduate students alike.
